In 1983, again in Paris, they were invited to a private party at the residence of José Pons, a frequent host. of renowned musicians. Among those present was Astor Piazzolla and his group. There, Sérgio and Odair had the opportunity to play the arrangement of "Escualo". Piazzolla's reaction was enthusiastic, promising to write a work especially dedicated to the Duo. Initially, the brothers imagined that it was just something momentary. But, in following year, they received "Tango Suite", a work that would become one of the pillars of Duo Assad's repertoire and a landmark definitive in its international projection.
